Chupa-chups in the stomach

Chupa-chups in the stomach

The parents of patient I. went to the endoscopy department of the Falck Hospital during the New Year holidays. By carelessness, their 7-year-old child swallowed the well-known candy Chupa- Chups along with a plastic stick, which got stuck in the stomach and threatened to perforate its walls. Under general anesthesia, the head of the endoscopic department, Professor Yudin, underwent a gastroscopy procedure, during which the plastic handle from the candy was successfully removed. The patient, under the supervision of an anesthesiologist, successfully recovered from sedation and was discharged home.
